at printlocker, we strive for sustainability in everything we do, from sourcing materials, to printing, to shipping. This ethos underpins every aspect of our corporate responsibility efforts, including:
• Sustainability and product sourcing
• Community initiatives
• Commitment to the environment
In our pursuit of sustainability, we will never lapse in quality. We balance our corporate responsibility with strict quality control measures, meaning that we produce the best quality garments in the most sustainable way possible.
Along with other leading Australian garment brands, we follow the Ethical Fashion Guide. Our major supplier, AS Colour, practices ethical material sourcing and garment manufacturing.
AS Colour are committed to producing garments with the assistance of manufacturers who share like-minded values. They will only work with businesses that upload basic human rights and environmental responsibility. When it comes to corporate responsibility, AS Colour also provide:
• Transparent supply chain and production processes
• Responsible Sourcing Strategy
• Dedicated ethical sourcing specialists

Without a healthy environment, there would be nobody to wear our garments. That's why we are committed to protecting the environment through our business practices.
As the core technology behind our operations, we decided our printers need to be environmentally responsible. To achieve this, we have our printers supplied by Kornit, the world's leading sustainable textile printing solution.
Kornit printers are designed to maximise energy efficiency. This keeps in step with all Australian and international energy standards for printers and garment makers.
According to Kornit, the run off from industrial printing and textiles processes equals about 1,875,000 km³ each year. To put that into perspective, that output could fill up the entire Mediterranean Sea every two years.
Kornit printers utilise a 100% waterless printing process, without the need for pre-treatment, steaming, or washing. Aside from the water contained in the ink, there's no water used, whatsoever.
Kornit inks are entirely free from heavy metals and dangerous chemicals like formaldehyde and APE. This means that all of our freshly printed garments are completely non-toxic.
These inks are also harmless to the environment. Our garments will only ever feature completely biodegradable ink, free from toxins and free from animal products, making them completely vegan friendly.
Sweat Shop Free
Quality apparel shouldn't come at the price of human rights, and we're proud to only source sweat shop free goods for our likeminded customers. Why? Because leading an ethical t-shirt printing company is a shared value of our entire Printlocker team, who proudly stand behind our products which are made in fair conditions. How do we ensure our standards are sweat shop free?
All of our products are:
• Manufactured in fair working conditions
• Employees are fairly compensated, coercion free
• Made by employees of a legal age
While sweat shops still exist, so too does the responsibility of retailers and customers to support companies that refuse such conditions. Ethical t-shirt printing is the future of fashion, and we're committed to supporting this societal driver by ethically dressing our customers. Join the movement!
we only source apparel product lines from global suppliers that are WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) certified. Without appropriate documentation, we do not enter into an agreement of service. We're known for our responsible production, and this is something that will not be compromised.
As the world's largest independent certification program, we believe that there is no excuse to be operating outside of WRAP in 2019. Next time you add an article of clothing to your cart, consider whether it has been made with safe, lawful and humane manufacturers. Make the change and start demanding WRAP certification from the brands you love.
We're in the game of designing custom t-shirts, not leaving a carbon footprint. For some businesses, these legacies are not equally weighted, with Mother Earth wearing the damage of decisions made without considering the environment. At PrintLocker, we maintain an eco-friendly operation by adhering to, and endorsing, the following standards:
• using natural fibres where possible, like cotton and bamboo
• reducing plastic packaging
• minimising waste and discarding it accordingly
• setting internal green goals within our warehouse
Creating a sustainable t-shirt printing company started with a single step, and now PrintLocker is sharing this retail standard with every t-shirt we print, and every package we send. When you design your custom t-shirt, you're wearing more than just a design. You're wearing change.
Fair Labor Association
Being a sustainable t-shirt printing company is about supporting local and national initiatives that promote fair working conditions. All PrintLocker partners and suppliers provide product that is accompanied with an FLA (Fair Labor Association) certificate. But without an FLA certificate, we refuse service, so you can dress assured that you're supporting fair labour through supporting PrintLocker.
Manufacturers that fail to comply with FLA standards will not make their way to our warehouses, and into the wardrobes of our customers. It's that simple. In 2019, we appreciate that shoppers are savvy to these global issues and have found our brand to be quality in design, and transparent in our production cycle.
